HAITI MISSION
Haiti School Needs
Looking forward into 2025, we have a need for more laptop computers. If you have a used computer in good condition, please consider donating for our upper school students in Haiti. The computers should be wiped clean and any personal data removed before donating. Unfortunately, we cannot use Chromebooks as thought earlier. Computers such as Dell, Acer, HP, or similar, are most desirable and they must be able to run Windows so the students can take their national exams online.
Thank you for your generosity throughout the past year with computer donations, support of the silent auction, and monetary donations. The need is so great due to the continuing violence and governmental dysfunction in the country. If you would like to continue to support the school, donations can be made through the St. Andrew on-line giving or checks can be made to St. Andrew UMC with Haiti School noted in the memo line. Please understand that all donations should be above and beyond your pledge/gifts to the church.
For any questions, please contact Carol Haisten at 770/365-2737 or chaisten1@hotmail.com.
Opened by St. Andrew UMC in 2005, Andrew Christian School sponsors just under 70 children in kindergarten - high school. The school is located just outside Port au Prince, Haiti, and is the pride of the community. The children are given the opportunity to go to school where they learn a Christian world and life view and how it affects decisions in their home, their community, and their country. St. Andrew through the school assists in providing the students with their school uniforms, books, tuition, one meal a day, and special Edu-Pack backpacks filled with school supplies. St Andrew used to send teams at least once a year to Haiti to help with the school. The team also joins up with other local UMC churches in the area. It has been very dangerous to travel to Haiti at this moment, so we do what we can to keep their school going from afar.
